Codes and Conventions

Film 1

The first film was about Sea creatures that were hunting for their food ( other fish), once the first fish had died on the floor you could see beer bottle lids on the floor but underneath them were the crabs using them to their advantage so they could get food and at the end when the turtle was getting hunted there was a octopus blending in with the metal scraps so they could hide. I think the purpose of this video is too show people what plastic and metal is doing to the sea creatures and how it is damaging them, and i think this should be aimed at people over the age of 12.

Film 2

The 2nd film was about a Metal monster who had a massive army who wanted to get the Guitar weapon from the Man but the Man refuses to hand over the weapon and the Man ends up killing the monster this film should be aimed at the age over 13 because it involves violence.

Differences between Film 1 and Film 2

The differences between Film 1 and Film 2 is that in film 1 the creators our trying to promote plastic in the ocean so people can see what is happening to the animals in the ocean and how it needs to be stopped where as in Film 2 it is about Electronic because the monster is made out of electric and the man fights the monster with an overpowered guitar.

Week 16 Blog 15/1-19/1

Monday: On Monday morning we had a fight class and the man who was teaching the lesson taught us how to do some fighting and stunt moves e.g. Jab, Swing, Flick your neck back to dodge Jab, Falling after a hit onto the crash mat always have your head above the floor or crash mat so you don’t hurt your heard. In the afternoon we were meant to have a online lesson with Matt Lockwood but it got cancelled.

Tuesday: On Tuesday we had Elliot wood and in his lesson we wrote up a recap of our fighting lesson we did on Monday after I had did that Elliot told us that we had to add a description of a XLR cable, condense microphone and a dynamic mic so I did that for the rest of the lesson.

Wednesday: On Wednesday Morning we had Luke and in his lesson I carried on doing the unit 5,6 and 7 PowerPoint the work I did in the PowerPoint was the slide that told me to write about 2 films what involve a fight or stunt scene so I did that for the whole lesson because I was struggling to find a good film with a stunt or fight scene.

Thursday: On Thursday morning we had Jay till and in his lesson he showed us some videos what have been made by a group of people and what they have been creating later on in the lesson I did the 2nd film I had to find a stunt or fight scene from. After that lesson I had Elliot Wood at the start of the lesson Elliot was asking what people were in groups so because I wasn’t in a group Elliot put me in a group with David and Catherine later on in the lesson I had to find 4 movie posters and do a description about them so I did that for the rest of the lesson.

WWW: what went well for me, is that I think I did a good job of adding key details to the poster e.g. Age rating, Director name, Film title and the Release date also I think for my first time using photoshop I think I did a good job at creating the poster even though it took a while to get used too.

EBI: In my opinion I think that I could of added a bit more stuff to the background because I think just putting one character on the poster wouldn’t really attract the audience but I think because its called Star wars I think that a lot of people would watch it anyway.

My audience classification for my film is a 12 because it contains blood, injury, violence, fighting scenes.

Week 15 Blog

Monday: The college was shut

Tuesday: On Tuesday afternoon Elliot introduced us to our new assignment what was unit 5,6 and 7 and in those units we would be doing Foley sound and Combat stunts. After he had explained it too us I started the PowerPoint he had given us.

Wednesday: On Wednesday morning I had Luke and in his lesson I did the glossary for unit 5 in the PowerPoint. After that lesson I had Matt Lockwood but we had a cover instead because he wasn’t in so I decided to do the unit 6 research task for finding a tv show or film with a fighting scene in it.

Thursday: Om Thursday morning we had Jay and in his lesson I carried on with my unit 5,6 and 7 PowerPoint by doing The research for a film that has combat scenes.

Week 11 Blog 4/12 to 8/12

Monday: On Monday morning we were meant to have Dan Vine but he wasn’t in so we had Matt Lockwood and in his lesson I did my blog from the previous week because I had no work to do because I’m not filming until Tuesday in the afternoon we were meant to have an online lesson with Matt Lockwood but it got cancelled because he was covering a different lesson.

Tuesday: On Tuesday morning before my lesson with Elliot wood I did some filming from home because I was doing my filming from home in Elliot Woods lesson I went through my pre-production to see if there was any mistakes was in them.

Wednesday: On Wednesday Morning i had Luke and in his lesson I started doing a poster what Jay till had set us next lesson i had Matt Lockwood and in his lesson I carried on doing my poster for Jay Till.

Thursday: On Thursday morning we had Peter Leask and in his lesson I carried on doing my poster and by time it got to the end of the lesson I had finished the poster next lesson I had Elliot Wood but he wasn’t in so I had Peter Leask again but in that lesson I had no work to do because I was all cached up with my work. After my Media lessons I went home to go and do my filming but I couldn’t quite finish it because I had to go back to college for another lesson.

Week 10 Blog 27/11 to 1/12

Monday: On Monday morning we had Dan vine and in his lesson I started my Risk assessment and I also started my scene breakdown and by time it was the end of the lesson I had finished both of them. In the afternoon we had a online lesson with Matt Lockwood and in that lesson we watched a 10 minute film about these three houses what went on an adventure one of them was a old house and a not so old house and a baby house and at the end of the film the old house had died so the not so old house and the little house carried on their journey.

Tuesday: On Tuesday we had Elliot wood and in his lesson I started my Shot list and I finished it and with not long in the lesson left I decided to start my storyboard but I was unable to finish it by the end of the lesson.

Wednesday: On Wednesday I was meant to have a lesson at 9 but I didn’t know it was on because our timetable got changed so I didn’t know we had a lesson at that time but after that lesson I had Matt Lockwood and in his lesson we watched these three films called the Smiling man and we had to pick our favourite and my personal favourite film was film number 3 for the rest of the lesson I finished my storyboard.

Thursday: On Thursday morning we had Luke and in his lesson i started my evaluation because i coulsdnt start filming yet because im not filming until monday after that Lesson i had Elliot Wood and in his lesson i finished the evaluation for the pre-production and for the rest of the lesson Elliot taught us what the 4 points of fair use was.

Week 9 Blog 20/11 to 24/11

Monday: On Monday morning we had Dan vine and in his lesson I started my pre production for my 2nd film for the 10 day film challenge so I in his lesson I did some research on imposter syndrome cause that was the theme I was picking to do my filming about. In the afternoon we were meant to have a online lesson with Matt but he wasn’t in.

Tuesday: On Tuesday I wasn’t in but I carried on to do my pitch presentation so I could present it when I go back to college.

Wednesday: On Wednesday we were meant to have Matt Lockwood but he wasn’t in so we had a cover so I ended up presenting my pitch to the cover teacher and she said it was fine to start doing the rest of my pre production. At the end of the day we had Tyler and in his lesson he taught us how to use illustrator and once we had got used we were allowed to try and make a poster.

Thursday: I was off ill

Week 8 Blog 13/11 to 17/11

Monday: On Monday morning we had Dan vine and in the lesson and he gave me some targets for this year and my targets are a Merit in Media and to pass both Maths and English for the remainder of the lesson I finished my risk assessment so I could start my filming. In the afternoon we were meant to have a online lesson with Matt Lockwood but he wasn’t in so it got cancelled.

Tuesday: On Tuesday we had Elliot Wood and in his lesson i started to do my evaluation because i couldn’t start my filming yet.

Wednesday and Thursday: on these 2 days I was off ill with a very bad headache so I couldn’t do any work.

Week 7 Blog 6/11 to 10/11

Monday: On Monday Morning we Had Dan Vine and in his lesson I finished my Pitch presentation and then I Presented it to Dan and he said that it was good and that i could start to do my film project e.g. ( Scene breakdown, Shot list, Storyboard and Risk Assessment ). In the afternoon we were meant to have an online lesson with Matt but it didn’t go ahead because he was ill so I did some independent study.

Tuesday: On Tuesday we had Elliot Wood in the afternoon and in his lesson I started to do my Scene breakdown and during the lesson Elliot told us he would be coming around to check our work and see what we were all doing.

Wednesday: On Wednesday morning we had Luke and in his lesson I finished my Scene breakdown and he also told us about FPS ( Frames Per Second ). In the afternoon we had Tyler and in his lesson we watched these 3 films and we had to do a code and conventions document about it.

Thursday: On Thursday morning we had Peter and in his lesson we carried on doing what we were doing in Tyler lesson and I managed to complete another Code and Convention on one of the films. Next lesson we had Elliot Wood but he wasn’t in so we had a Teacher called Luke and in his lesson I started and finished my storyboard but I didn’t have a lot of time because there was a lockdown alarm going off and we all had to stay in our classes until the alarm stopped

Week 6 Blog 30/10 to 2/11

Tuesday; On Tuesday morning we had Elliot and he introduced us to the new project were were doing the 10 day challenge and we got told we had to make 2 films’ in 10 days by ourselves or in a pair so for my first film I picked the theme Writers and actors strike and I started to do some research about it by myself because I do not have a partner.

Wednesday: On Wednesday morning we had a cover teacher because Matt Lockwood wasn’t in so wed had someone called Luke and he told us that he works behind the camera on famous sport shows e.g. NFL Show, Champions league goal show and Champions league matches and in his lesson I carried on doing research about Writers and Actors going on Strike. In the afternoon we had Tyler but he wasn’t in so the lesson ended up getting cancelled.

Thursday: On Thursday morning we were meant to have Peter but he wasn’t in so we had Elliot and in that lesson I started to do my presentation for my 10 day film after that lesson we had Elliot again and in his lesson i carried on doing my pitch presentation.
